About Membership

Welcome! Temple Beth Orr is a warm, inclusive, and welcoming community that has been the cornerstone of Reform Jewish life in Coral Springs for the past 50 years.

Our members, whom we like to call partners, are what creates a strong community experience at TBO. We provide a religious home, education, and community for all who need one. We are certain you will find membership to be enriching and engaging, and we encourage you to find your Jewish identity with our Temple Beth Orr family.

Our congregation welcomes you to share the most meaningful moments in your life, whether joyous or sad, with others or through introspection. With a joy for Judaism, let’s support and strengthen our bonds as a community, congregation, and family!

As we enter the Post-Pandemic Era, Temple Beth Orr encourages everyone to be a steward. With pride of Judaism and valued friendships, we each have a responsibility to maintain our spiritual, educational, social, and physical presence in Coral Springs. These important aspects of congregational life depend on funding this precious institution.

When you become a member of Temple Beth Orr and partner with us, you help ensure that we are able to continue our important work. We understand that people fall on hard times and that they may not be able to afford a full membership. Temple Beth Orr showcases alternative forms of membership, which allows us to assist congregants who could not otherwise afford to pay for a full membership. If this is the first time that you are joining our Temple, we have provided a one-year discount so you are able to get to know our community as we have come to love it.

Temple Beth Orr's 2023-2024 Renewal

We did it, 50 years! What’s next? Fifty more of course! Plans are in the works to continue with fantastic holiday festivals, family-themed services, concerts, social gatherings, trips, dances, dinners, as well as interesting speakers and classes. Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Fabulous Fifties Plus, Youth Groups, and Bingo all have amazing programs set to go this year. Shabbat Services are more engaging than ever.

Senior Staff

Our Senior Staff is awesome! Under Rabbi Rappaport, our services, classes, and holidays are creative, joyful, and meaningful. Eileen Kaplan, our Early Childhood Center Director, continues to lead our NAEYC accredited ECC program as a Broward Gold Star School. Our Religious School, under the leadership of Phyllis Lasky, has created unique and interactive learning and community-building experiences for children and families. Ron Barhai continues to provide our youth groups with fun activities, holiday experiences, and friendships. Esther Zipper, our administrator, brings her expertise from non-profits and a very large reform temple in Boca Raton. She is warm, welcoming and she is eager to meet and help you.

Temple Beth Orr has faced some unique challenges over the past few years. We have become closer as a result, with a stronger sense of identity within the community and we continue to face our challenges head-on. One of these challenges is maintaining our religious home. As our building ages and requires mantainence, we encourage members to contribute what they can, when they can. In keeping up with our needs, we have improved our kitchen area, completed major plumbing improvements, re-evaluated our air conditioner units, as well as increased our security by installing additional cameras. We are doing our part to maintain and improve the Temple and its grounds while staying fiscally responsible. While our costs have risen in most aspects – salaries, services, insurance, etc. we have not raised the cost of a partnership plan. We depend on you, and other partners like you to give what you can, when you can to support our beautiful building.

We hope that you are able to be as generous as possible in pledging your membership level for 2023-2024. It is costly to run a quality congregation and we cannot do it without your financial support. We are a family, a community, and friends who support each other through good times and bad. Our youngest member has not yet been born, and our eldest just turned 98. We celebrate and value every one of us! Together we are Temple Beth Orr!

When you join our special TBO community you become part of something larger than any one person. We will be there with you to celebrate your special occasions, support you when you least expect it, and most of all, we are a place for you to celebrate your love for Judaism with others. Please give as generously as possible.

With the support of each and every one of you, our Jewish community will go on for another 50 years. Thank you.
